The SF Swift Community are coming to GitHub HQ to hold a Swift lang hackday on September 27th, and you're invited to take part in the Swiftivities. There will be two talks by Swift thought leaders Natasha and Nick, three meals per hacker, free drinks from GitHub's bar, between-code-activities, and a lot of time to hack on your ideas. At the end of the day we'll check out the niftiest hacks and crown the winner.
The best new Swift devs in the bay area will be there. Will you?
Main Speakers
Natasha Murashev
A.k.a "NatashaTheRobot" will take you onboard her Swift train and walk you through cool Swift language features, how to visualize your code in playground files, and she will help you get a head start on your own Swift adventure. All of this with the help of her minion friends!
Nick O'Neill
A.k.a "the broccoli lover" analyzes: How do the Objective-C patterns we already know translate into Swift? The best ways to do things in Swift are not necessarily direct translations from the best ways in Objective-C. We'll explore the language features in Swift that allow us to implement popular and useful features in new and interesting ways.

Getting there:
Public transport-
We would recommend taking public transport to this event (especially since you 21+ peeps might want to finish off the day with a drink from GitHub's open bar).
The SF caltrain station is just a few blocks away.
You can also take the muni metro to 2nd and King St with the N or KT line.
A brisk 20 min walk from Montgomery Street BART station will also get you there.
Parking-
There should be sufficient street parking around as long as you get their early. GitHub HQ is close to AT&T park and there will be a baseball game later in the day so make sure to get your spot before all the Giants fans arrive.
Other things to note:
1. You will need some previous coding experience to take part and benefit from this day and the talks. To hack you need to know some basic Swift or be a very fast learner ;).
2. You need to bring A Mac laptop installed with:
- either OS X 10.93, the latest version of Mavricks or 10.10, Yosemite beta. You need this to participate in the hack.
- Xcode beta 6 (or newer release, when that is available). Download it here: https://developer.apple.com/swift/resources/ It needs to be registered to install.
3. Bring an id since we need to give you an appropriate wristband when we check you in. This is to make sure that GitHub can serve you 21+ers drinks.
4. When you get your tickets- make sure to let us know of any dietary requirements! There will be some vegetarian options, but any allergies etc need to be filled out when you get your ticket (there is a designated field). To ensure that we can accommodate your needs you need to let us know at least two weeks before the event (so at the latest on the 13th of September).
5. For any other questions you can contact Ida, one of the co-organizers. Send her a message via the meetup page or on her email: idakristiansson90(AT)gmail.com
